Top Six Skin Sins - Avoid at ALL COSTS!
So you’re a manly man for sure. You can bench press a bazillion pounds, kill bugs for the ladies, and hold your own in a brawl. You have better things to think about than your skin. Like that awesome new flat screen TV you just bought. Or that hot new babe on Mad Men. But at the same time you don’t want to look like a scraggly mess. Never fear, we’ve got the skivvy on your skin. You probably know that to improve your appearance you need to eat well, drink plenty of water, exercise. Duh. But there are also many things you can do to ruin your skin as well. Unfortunately skin sins abound like germs on a subway.

You want to look more like George Clooney than Nick Nolte, we’re assuming. So what’s the 411? Read on and find out what you should stop doing if you want to keep lookin' good as you get older and the fly honeys rolling in.
#1 Stop using plain ol’ soap
Many men think that soap and water is good enough. No way Jose! Soap is super cool for washing your hands, but not when you’re taking care of your handsome mug. Taking care of your skin is muy importante not just for women but for men too. By using a cleanser specially formulated for a man’s skin, you’ll keep yourself looking hot to trot in the long run. A scrub can work wonders as well, helping the gross dead skin cells slough off and encourage new sparkly skin growth. Trust us your skin will thank you.
#2 Lay off the caffeine and booze
We know, we know. You need three cups of coffee in the morning just to get going. And then comes along happy hour and there’s nothing more relaxing than downing a few glasses of hooch. We're totally with you natch. But unfortunately, both alcohol and coffee act as diuretics. Skin needs water like a baby needs milk. Without enough water in your system your cells won't function as well. If you find yourself unable to cut down on the enemy, at least drink enough H20 to stay hydrated and make up for the lack of water.
#3 Don’t shave dry
For reals? This one should be avoided like the plague. Even if you're in a serious hurry, you should never ever resort to dry shaving. The razor needs to glide easily over your hair, not cause friction. That will just lead to cuts, bumps, and ingrown hairs. Not only is that not comfortable, it's not pretty. To make sure that doesn't happen to you, wet your face and then lather up.
#4 Quit smoking like yesterday
Need we really point this one out? Smoking is major bad for you and your skin. Besides causing the obvious problems like cancer, puffing away on nicotine sticks will lead to crinkly fine lines around the mouth and crows feet around the eyes. Everytime you smoke, you create free radicals in the body killing your cells, (ouch!) causing deep lines and wrinkles to form. Natural lines can be sexy, deep lines are not.
#5 Keep your hands off your face
You may think your hands are Mr. Clean, but they pick up all kinds of goo and bacteria during your day to day life. And let's not even get started on all the grimy grime on your phone. When your digits touch your face, you're transferring all kinds of germs to your face, which can cause zits. A grown man with pimples? Not hot. To avoid the problemo, wash your hands more often, use a hands free set when gabbing on the phone, and most importantly don't touch your face.
#6 Slather that puppy (your face) with sunscreen
The leatherface look? Not so attractive. Unless you want to look like a shar-pei, you need to wear sunscreen when chillin’ outside. Spending copious amounts of time in the sun without protection will make skin fast-forward in terms of aging. To protect yourself, make sure you're always wearing an SPF when you're outdoors whether you’re on the beach or hitting the slopes.
